I have had my S600 only a few days I am getting around 15MPG, it's so hard to keep my foot out of it. I'm sure when my wife drives the car the mileage will be alot better.

2000 s500
2000 S500

200 s500 20.5 mpg (over last 3k) mostly commuting 80 mi a day. Avg maybe 30 during the commute around D.C. Don't count on much more, cause I normally baby it unless I'm cutting people off.

So far in the city I am getting around 12-13 MPG on the highway it seems to get 19 or 20. I guess this is not to bad considering the weight (4600Lbs) and the performance (0-60 4.3) (1/4 12.5).

2006 SL55 with 030 Performance Package
PaulF1 How do you like your S600 I am thinking about buying a used S600 2003 or newer. How does it compare to the S500 how is the ride quality does it feel like a special car? Such a great deal right now its hard to pass up then get a New 2007 S600 once they work out all the first year blues. Any comments you can ad would be great

Thanks,

AMGBENZ, This is definately a special car only MB could balance the performance/comfort so well. The more time I spend in this car the more I love it. Check out this link to Car and Driver http://www.caranddriver.com/article....&page_number=1

Hope this helps.

2001 s500 Sport
Having driven my 01 S500 Sport for approx. 50,000 miles mostly in Indiana, my overall fuel economy is 19.0-19.5 mpg. This is approx a 50/50 combination of street and highway daily driving in all weather conditions. I do not baby this car.

2005 S500 4-Matic, 1978 450SL
My 2000 S500 got about 19.5 to 20 in combined highway/city driving, and 25 to 26 on the highway. My '05 S500 4-Matic gets about 1.5 mpg less in each case.

15 city, 23 hwy--and I have a very light foot. But tend to leave the temp. setting on 70 all the time. Could that cause me to get this poor milage over the last six years. I keep car extremely well maintained, so that is not the issue. And I always run 91 or 92 octane gas. I drive mostly in city and the combined is 15.6--used to be 14.6, but seems to be improving.

On highway driving alone I average about 23.5 which is kinda good to me consider my suburban get about 14. Just keep your air filter clean and you should be fine.

Thanks. That's about the same for me on the hwy, but you get a lot better overall milage (18.2) than I do. You must do more hwy driving than I. Plus it seems like some of those guys above do a lot better both of us.
