Airmatic problem, Compressor noise on S500L

Dear Members,

A few days ago, when I switched off my car, there was a loud noise(Like a hammer Drill!) from the front bumper and after 10 minutes ended up by smoke, and when switched on "AIRMATIC, VISIT WORKSHOP" on screen

After a day the car was not lower at all, so I guess no leakage

I purchased the Compressor and relay(@£190.87 +VAT & £22 + VAT) and took it to a Mercedes specialist and repalced the airmatic pump and relay and it works (up & down) but have a drilling noise sometimes (not in hammer mode!!),

A member of this board(Air-force-1) told me to check the relay again, and I noticed that the guy who replaced the relay, made a mistake and instead of the Airmatic relay, he changed with another relay!!!
Now I changed the correct Relay but still that noise exist, (now it is only when the compressor works, about 10 seconds)

My questions are,
Could the faulty relay damaged the compressor in just two days( about two hours of driving)?
Assuming the answer to first Q is negative, is there any other parts that needs to be replaced, any valves, etc?

Here is the the old compressor, (for those who might be interested)

Many thanks
Mike

Same crap happened to me I had all those things replaced @ dealer and the drilling sound is still there a lot more subtle than when it went out, but not completely silent like it was when car was new and never had Airmatic problems I took it back several times to the Stealership and they swear it's normal
I Said "Yeah right lets go in to the showroom and press the air up down button on the dash of a brand new S and see if it makes any noise" and they refused...
I've learned to live w/it I think it's a parts problem/defect and anyone who gets these newer parts will experience this....
Your like the 2nd-3rd person I've heard of who is having these same issues w/replacement Airmatic parts.....
