I was suprised to read that homes in that So Cal rabbit warren of Long Beach were going for $4mil. My own home is only worth 2, in a much more fashionable area. (I am not rich, paid only 159k 30 years ago.) So I did a little research. Looking from the bridge in the first post, I found most homes in the one million range, some as little as 500K.

Personally, I think a person's worth should be measured with how much he/she has accomplished, and how far he/she has come in life. And of course, if you have helped the people around you during your rise to success, then that is awesome.
