89 Octane? How much did you put in? If a little, then fill the rest of the tank up with premium and be extra light on the throttle until the tank completely burns.
Also, try octane booster.

I wouldn't worry about it, don't do it often though.
The ECU will (I hope I get this right) retard timing enough so that your engine doesn't pre-maturely detonate causing a catastrophic engine failure. However it can only do this within the parameters as specified by the electronics so once again, be careful when putting in lower grade fuel in your car.
But since you only did it once, I wouldn't worry about it.

things with and without wheels
It is recomended that whenever 92 octane is not available use lower octane with caution which means ; don't push the engine into the higher rpm range ,try not to climb steep hills or put heavy loads on the engine.

My engine light came on. I called to schedule service and tech suggested that I run on out gas and see if light stays on after that. I can't really be sure if its from the gas or if its from the oil burning problem they said I have. I be constantly checking the oil. However it keeps reading "Not Possible" When I look at the stick its like 3 lines down from the top arrow. Do you think the engine light is due to the gas? It was exxon. Should I drive it out or just high tail it to the service center?
