Phone connection!!
Thanks in advance.
Any ideas what might be causing this? I think I've got an antenna issue, but I don't know where to start looking. My NAV unit isn't working (doesn't read satellites), but will "dead-reckon" pretty well without it. Bought a replacement head (used). Haven't installed it yet. Hopefully navigation will start working again.
Any suggestions/ideas appreciated. Thanks.

Given that cellphones have a 6 months lifecycle, it's nice not to be locked into a particular brand/model/cradle.
Sounds like you have a Motorola startac or timeport installation in your car. Here are some options, assuming self-installation:
1. Get a mikbox setup. Cost will be for the mikbox, plus the cradle ($400, give or take)
2. Get a Bluetooth setup.
Check on your PSE model, based on the part number. It's in the trunk, bundled with the CD changer. May take a bit of effort based on your skills.
Here are the choices:
Q682-0460 (StarTac)
Q682-9460 (StarTac)
Q682-0648 (Timeport)
Q682-9648 (Timeport)
Q682-0754 (V60 & Timeport "auto sense")
a. Call www.wireless4mb.com and find out if your PSE is compatible with the bluetooth puck. You might only need to buy a Motorola V60 cradle or wait for the Timeport bluetooth puck (in the works)
b. If compatible, a V60 cradle used to run about $69-$70 on eBay. Prices may go up. Then buy the bluetooth V60 puck (anywhere from $275-$325 at (www.wireless4mb.com or MB dealer; dealer price is $258 btw. MSRP is $325).
c. Wait for the Timeport puck.
d. If not compatible, simply buy the whole V60 phone system on eBay. Perfect for people that have no phone install. Usually $150-200 on eBay, prices may go up as the bluetooth option is now available (example: http://cgi.ebay.com/Mercedes-Benz-Ce...QQcmdZViewItem)
Either way. if you shop right. $400-$500 should get you going, whichever way you want.
Hope this helps
