Your right, you can't. But if he is looking for a car, and he wants to add the LS430 to his list, why not? The S600 looks a lot better, probably performes somewhat better, and has a lot more prestige.
But, you can easily by the Lexus, throw in an SRT supercharger, get the Ultra Luxury package, put on some 18 or 20s, and the LS will fly right by the S600.
And then there is the whole reliability factor.

Yes, but not everything is about speed. The S600 goes 0-60 in 5.8 seconds, the S55 in 5.7. That is not very fast when compared with other AMG's.
If someone is planning on buying an S-Class, they definetly are not concerned about speed.

It's helping me a lot, but now im wondering if i should keep a Lexus on my list of Selection cause does it match the performance?
To put it to the end, The LS430 offers almost every feature that the S600/S55 has, and it lacks some. But then again, the S600 also lacks features that the LS430 has. Give or take 60,000 dollars, you can easily add in those features to the LS430 and have a **** load of money left over.

There is a thread in the Kill Stories forum about a Honda Civic beating a Ferrari F355. The guy in the Civic has a ton of modifications and has much better performance than the Ferrari, however, it is still a Honda.

Typical Mercedes owner attitude. "Oh, it's just a Lexus." I hate to break it to you, but Lexus makes better cars than Mercedes ever will. The AMGs are better because they are handbuilt, but I have a fair share of friends who own MBs, including myself, and they are POSs because they always fall apart.
If you want to go with your little saying "Its always going to be a Lexus," then I'll go with the phrase "Mercedes are always going to be a piece of ****."

Being MB owner and BMW owner I must say they have lotta problems believe me my S400CDI was a Nightmare!
The second week it goes in to the workshop and guess for what?? Some kinda Engine pulley was rusted!
2nd week?!?!
But on the other hand Im very scared of buying any other car,
Keep thinking of their service etc.
Although BBC TOP GEAR did rate Lexus as the best car in 2000 or 2001 But I still will check it out on monday
Im just 22 Want something To shove in a bit
Thats why I planned to Mod my S600/55/63 with some real hi-tech goodies in the engine!
But then lets see what happens on monday when i check the lexus!

But you know Accord, you can;t say a Lexus is a Lexus, they are phenominal cars. Ever drive a Lexus GS430 my good man. It accelerates, and handles better than the E430, i have read in many reports!!!

We had a 2000 S500 that had countless problems in the first week of owning it (This was because we got one of the first S500's in it's first model year). To make a long story short, the dealer gave us a brand new 2000 S500 one week later which had zero problems and the options and color was identical to ours and they took back the lemon S500. They gladly did it, and were happy to do this favor for us. They didn't fight it, no lawyers were needed.
My experience with Mercedes-Benz has been nothing short of outstanding. The service, the treatment, the vehicles; all fantastic. I will be driving Mercedes-Benz vehicles for the rest of my life.
You can go with your phrase all you want however, thus far I will respectfully disagree with you.
Yes, a Lexus is infact a Toyota. Now would you take offense to this unless you are ashamed to own a car made by Toyota?
Just because a car is made by Toyota does not mean it is a bad car, I never said that, and you are implying that I did. If I drove a Hyundai, would my opinion of Lexus be any different? No. You are judging someone solely on the type of car they drive, which should not be done.

i remember i was a lexus fanboy because that was the first luxary car we got. Lexus LS400 1994.. unless that crap 325ci or something coutned. lol
i remember i used to think lexus 0wn3d mercedes.. then i relized the toyota symbol on my side windshield.. then i'm like thats why its so reliable.. but i still had on my mind.. hey man... this is just a popped up toyota.. this is coming from a lexus fanboy!
now i'm break even between both.. but i'm leaning towards benz now because well.. in my eyes all lexus's right now look like total crap.. done deal.. pure utter CRAP! I don't know why they made them look like weaklings..
one example is the single exhaust on the es300.. might be a preformence package that puts a dual exhaust but still.. that just doesn't apeal to me!
the the ls430.. oh god no.. i've been and seen 5 of them which are in our extended family and i just hate them.. but i gotta give props to lexus (toyota?) for having that pimped out A/C thing where it moves by itself.. its cool as hell! lol
i find the S600 more entertaining.. sure you can mod it.. but then couldn't u just get a honda like someone said and mod that? you can mod any car.. almost.. lol
btw.. i have no respect for bmw's.. we had one.. and i ate it.. yeahn not hate.. ATE! eat it.. lol but then agian.. i'm a benz guy.. used to be a lexus guy ..
