2003 S600 reliability?

2003 S600 reliability?
Hi, I'm new to the forum. I am looking at purchasing a 2003 S600. I've been told the V12 is less reliable than the V8s in the S55 and S500. Has anyone experienced this? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

The newer V12 has been known to generate more issues than the AMG V8 and the MB 500 series motor. However, it is also significantly more powerful with maximum torque available at a mere 1800 rpms. The S600 is a very classy looking automobile, but I would have to reccommend at least a MY2004. My reasoning for this is that 2003 was the first year in which MB utilized the 5.5 Litre V12 BiTurbo in their automobiles. In the 2004+ models, MB has had time to work out any first year production bumps. Other than that, as long as the car has an extended warranty, it will be a very enjoyable vehicle to have.
