does anyone know why the lights right above the light switch are not comming on when I turn the lights on I cant see where my lights are set at auto, or otherwise (if it's dark) is there a setting can it be a fuse, a bulb any help would be appreciated Just bought this car and I'm not too familliar with it. I have a 2002 s500

I don't think those are lit. Would've been nice though.

 

I had a 1993 400 sel and they did also myniece has an 01 c320 and they do and i'm pretty sure mine did until the other night

if it would light up before, chances are the bulb is out. most cars have a tiny bulb behind the switch that you twist to get out. my 01 sl500 and my 04 s500 both light up, so im sure its the tiny bulb.

 

I have a light quesiton. I thought I would post it in this thread becuse we are taking about interior lights.


I have a light on the bottom of the rear view mirror and it lights up the shift area. I like it but is it suppose to stay on even when I dont have the lights on? It is on during the day and at night.

It's on when ever the keys are in the ignition, that light is always on.

 

You should have an Owner's manual that covers that. If you didn't get one w/ your car your dealer can get it for you and I believe there are online manuals too.

 

if you are referring to the little icons above the light switch, those are not illuminated. I am not sure if the 2005-06 models have them illuminated. My 2003 C320 is illuminated and they removed this feature on the newer w203's.

 

My 2000 S500 little icons lights by the light switches in head liner front and the little icon light in the rear head liner by flip mirrors are staying on draining my battery. They only come on when I turn my head lights on; however, they do not turn off unless I disconnect the battery cable. Is there a faulty relay that controls those icons light bulbs?

 

Having same problem on S430 2000, rear mirror lights won't shut off, drained battery key doesn't unlock trunk disconnected battery trunk lid closed now can't get in trunk to connect battery or apply power to use trunk release button stay tuned. Still haven't found why these lights will not shut off just started after 6 yrs of no problems

 

use key to get in the trunk.
