Yea Ive ended up picking one up from ebay for about that.

It doesnt seem to fit flushly into the bonnet where the old star was though, seems to more fit over it slightly, like its too big.

Either way its on now anyway.

I respect the craftsmanship and idea involved but imo I just dont think a s klasse looks right without the raised star. It makes a luxory sedan look like a wannabe sports sedan. Remind me of an audi a4 or something

With the purchase of either a WHITE STAR Flat Badge or an AMG Flat Badge, and I will throw in the chromed upright tristar that is removed from the OEM Mercedes upright hood ornament in order to make your Flat badge.

AMG Flat Badge serial #70 is the next to be sold.

 

From time to time, I've gotten requests for WHITE STAR Flat Badges or AMG Flat Badges with the blue laurel wreath done in black, mostly from people with black cars. While changing the color on badge inserts already made is not in the cards, I thought this all chrome style might work. What do you think?

The core of this badge is made from an S-Class part (#221-880-0086), not the blue laurel wreath cores from the W210 E-Class part (#210-880-0186). So the S-Class part will cost $10 more to buy from the dealer, which means the finished badge will cost $10 more than my previous work. So keep that in mind.

To clarify, I call these "Chrome Badges" because they look like chrome. However, truth be known, the mirror-like finish is a highly polished Aluminum, cast as part of the entire core mount of the original upright star.

Everyone should be assured that I sell ONLY this deeper style, the "Current Production" example shown in the picture below... I ran out of the "Original," flatter tristar inserts years ago.

I have the original prototype left of the Polished Flat Badge. Shown below, it is unfinished, so that either the WHITE STAR, or AMG insert can be put in place. Buyer to choose which stlye they want. Once this badge is sold, I do not plan to make any more. This means there will be less than ten of these on the planet.
