Yes, you are correct.

So,
last weekend I have try what 516mbtek suggest.
I have spray the top of the strut and slowly with hydraulic jack I lift the car.
As soon as the wheel where lifted from the ground I hear a crack noise and on the top the bubbles start.
I let down the car and leaking stop.
What do you think should I go to Mercedes for repair kit?
Is there any risk now in "normal" driving?

I got the car fixed, thanks guys!

Just one more question, every time I raise the car I hear a loud vibrating noise (seems like the compressor is working very hard). Is this normal when raising the car or should I get this checked? It's a new compressor btw.

Also when raising the car should the front always be higher than the back? I checked the stuts and I dont here any air leaking noise.

looks like the problem was not fixed

when i turn on the car i sometimes hear a loud vibatring noise at the beginning then it goes away, which never happened with the old compressor before

i took it for a test drive and that vibrating compressor noise kept coming on and off

is it safe to ride like that?

is this happening because it was not installed properly or could it be cause its a new compressor?

i think the compressor has a break in period... i say give it some a few days and if its not fixed then take it back..
I could be wrong though... although i have heard that it takes a few days for a compressor to break in.

seems like that is the only problem since the car has not lowered, it only vibrates on and off while im driving

the tech may have left off the rubbers that dampen the vibration...?

Yes of course get it checked.
The rubber gromits may need to be replaced.
I had to do this on my Range Rover.

For goodness sake get to a Merc dealer. Complex cars need properly trained mechanics. You'll have far less hassle in the long run. Good luck.

Fantastic thread showing the amazing depth of knowledge available to us all here.

I was told the compressor just needed to be put on but apparently according to Mercedes-Benz the "Compressor should be diagnosed and activated utilising SBD-102 or factory tool. This updated compressor requires (1) 220 327 00 82 hose and (1) 002 542 13 19 relay per Mercedes_Benz". Could this be why my compressor vibrates on and off on the road?

It's my turn now

My car is down and I've been without it for a week. I was blessed that it died in my garage. I bought my new compressor over the weekend. WOW just in time too, the price for the compressor has dropped. I paid $303 from AutoHausaz. Arnott also has them for $313.

My question is...will it come with new springs (bushings)?

Job done now what?

Changed my compressor last week. As all the other installs on this car...easy. However, this thing is loud. Inside the car, outside the car sounds like I'm sitting in a tire shop. But it comes up like ummm very fast. Now my rear driver drops low. Added to the list.

Decade later

m thinking it might be I put it on too lose or too tight. Or it could just be a decade later the product changed. I notice no one is stating anything different but I'll investigate more.
