Wanted SL320 W220 Frosty Headlights
Hi guys i am new to this forum and still getting in the grove of things.
I am in need of both the front headlights for my Mercedes.
Mercedes S Class 320 W220
Year: 52 -
They are with the frosty outlook.
My current units are working totally fine however the mountings are snapped off, its a shame to have to look out for totally new headlights just because the top and side mountings are snapped off.
just out of interest is it possible to order the separate back case for the headlights presuming that might be cheaper is available???
all help is much appreciate
regards
J

This is the left headlight
Left headlight top mounting cracked
Left headlight side mounting cracked
Right Headlight side mount cracked
Left Headlight
Right Headlight with missing sliver trim
Is the rear of the headlight casing available from the dealers ?
I did try and glue them however after some time they gave way.
all help is appreciated
Regards

That chrome trim You can get it on eBay
Since your lights are fine , just the mounts are cracked I suggest simply using some metal or plastic brackets and some epoxy to bridge and glue the cracked brackets together
You can't just glue the cracked pieces together , there is too much stress pulling them apart . You need something to bridge the gap of the crack and glue that
Use a good 60 second epoxy

I really do understand this is a simple fix however I just do not have the time to fiddle around with different glues and resins as trying to get time of work is a war on its own.
I have tried searching for the sliver trim however cant seem to get anything, do you know the actual name for this part? all i have typed in is sliver bumper trim Mercedes w220
is it possible to get the rear mounting bracket which covers the rear of the headlight individually from the dealers ??

Try here. The parts shown are for a 2003 Mercedes S500. IF you put in your vehicle and look under ELECTRICAL FRONT LAMPS you might find your part.

Keep in mind the. 2003 headlights are different
Seriously using glue and plastic bracket will take 5 minutes , much faster than replacing. The light buckets
All you need is any piece of thin plastic or metal and 60 second epoxy

Guys thank you for the help so far.
I understand it is a simple yet reasonably easy job so yes maybe one weekend shall see me do this. I will keep you posted on my progress, i am no expert however i am spanner friendly.
I noticed this morning i have a strange content ticking noise from the blue eletric plug/uni in the picture below:
I am unsure of what this maybe or why this is ticking away however this is the first time i have noticed it. I have also noticed my temp needle sit a little higher then normal. Normally the temp needle sit around the 80ish mark. I have checked coolant levels and it seems fine. heating and cool air is also working fine.
To be honest a little baffled as to why the temp needle has crepes up any idea ??
I have the car serviced every year and it is very well looked after. The car is driven respectfully and not aggressively at all.
all help again is much appreciated

So im guess that the temp is ok and is as normal.
Anybody know about the blue plug connection and as to why it could be ticking away. Rather strange and noticeably loud when the bonnet is up.
