Help needed!: How to replace fuel filter (oxygen!)

Hi everyone,

I am getting my car back from the bodyshop on thursday.
Hopefully the car will come out in a good shape.(it's being repaired by the MB bodyshop run by MB North America- I think)

Anyways, I have done some homework to replace things on my car. I figured out how to replace the simpler ones for 60K maintanance like activated charcoal filter, brakes...

The question I have:

1.how to replace the fuel filter. I could not locate it, nor could I get any directions on the web.

2. Do I have to replace the ignition wires when I replace the plugs?

This is first service I am doing by myself. Please help me! :-)

It should be rather simple from what I understand... you have to jack the car up, it's located on the bottom of the car, driver's side towards the back (when the car is running, you can hear the fuel pump by the rear driver's side door)...

Here's some directions:

At frame floor on left anhead of rear axle.

You don't have to. It would make the car perform optimally, but like I said, not necessary.

BTW, what is the change interval for the fuel filter?

Charcoal filters are basically the cabin filters under the glove box right?

My car is 7 years old and I haven't done any of those. Plugs are coming in a week, and I might as well replace that fuel filter and cabin filter. Thanks.

I lifted the car today and couldn't find the fuel filter. Is it inside that box looking cover ahead of the left rear wheel?

Yes, that's where I thought it would be. But I'm having issues taking that cover off.
