Mercedes OEM chrome AMG 18 wheels for S430.

Currently I have 16" SPLIT SPOKE CHROME WHEELS on my Mercedes S430, 2000. I was wondering what changes I should expect if I upgrade my wheel to 18” AMG OEM – part number A2204013702, 9J X 18EH2, ET 44. I have a guy who wants to sell those wheels with the 50% used Bridgestone Potenza. He wants $900.00 for them; I think it is a good deal.

Will I loose the gas mileage? Power? Any other changes?

Thanks.

Your handling will improve quite a bit with a similar deterioration in your ride quality. Not a bad trade off with air-matic...but stay away from rough roads especially those with deep pot holes.

id rather keep the stock rims since they provide more comfort

I don't know what to do at this point. My current 16" chrome wheels has a brand new Michelin tires but if I go with the AMG 18" I need to buy new tires which will be around $1100.00-$1300.00. Same time I don’t want to loose the ride quality, I like it now.

I upgraded my E to the 18" AMG Splits (chromed) and I love the look, love the ride, love the handling. Hate the pothole that Mission Viejo didn't fill for four months that put a slight dent in both left side rims. Only feel it over 80 mpg, but it still irks me. Otherwise, they're great.
