2002 S500 needs iPod!
Dension USA no longer sells anything and Dension's website sucks STILL, so does anyone have any idea how to actually buy their products? Apparently there's some new deal called the Gateway 500 that's matched to the '02 W220, but I can't get the info on it.
Anyone?

GATEWAY 500 in '03 S500
I have an 03 S500 and just installed the GATEWAY 500. It works like a charm however the controls leave something to be desired. You can't see the song title on the COMAND console and if you have the iPod in the glove box it is NOT easy to navigate between playlists and songs, etc. All in all, it's okay--but I'm surprised isn't more user-friendly.

Boycott Dension
After needing a part for my Dension IceLink Plus, for one I couldn't get anyone to email me back let alone there is NO service or repairs. I had to call Canada. Dension is no longer selling in the U.S. because of obvious lawsuits. The place in Canada, Auto Mobility, referred me to some guy named "Harry" which sells to you and me. He told me I was SOL and couldn't buy the $40 part. He said I would have to buy the complete unit.He suggested I buy the Gateway 500 at $500. So if my Benz has a broken part, the dealer is going to suggest me buying a new car instead of replacing a part?? C'mon. Save your money and wait till a company called Dice Electronics finishes up their beta version soon. At least if you have any problems, you will have support!

And in the meantime since my last post, the Gateway 500 unit has just stopped working altogether. I've reset the iPod, reset the Gateway, and every time the car starts, the CD changer takes over and plays the CD's. All in all, I'm definitely thinking the unit is a POS.

Just to inform PowerCell and My06CLK, DICE does NOT stand for Dension ICE. It stands for Digital In Car Electronics, DICE.

Here's a quote from the DICE Press Release.
"DICE Electronics, a new company founded by Dension USA CEO Alfred Barabas and President Laszlo Barabas the leaders in hardwired iPod/iNano car integration kits,......."
That's what my point was. You still think it's a different company? We'll See.
