gregwang,
I'll post pictures of the new wheel when it is installed, and here is the new shifter knob I installed from formymercedes.com
Duffy,
Beautiful new car, congrats! I simply called them, talked to Teri and ordered it right over the phone in less than 5 minutes. Give that a try!

Duffy - Nice car, actually pardon me, excellent car. These cars are still timeless, and it looks brand new.
You said you were young - how young? Did you consider any other car besides this - say E55, just curious.

For the price that I paid for this vehicle I surely could have purchased an almost new E55 (not E63). However, it was not an option due to how much safer the S class is in general. The E55 does not have Presafe, etc. like the E63 and S classes do. The S class is also safer due to the added size and weight.

Duffy, you mention the car riding rough. That's because it's riding on 18inch wheels and tires. Wide tires with tiny sidewall = bone jarring ride. It aint easy pimpin', u gotta pay to play.
If you think the ride on OEM 18" setup is rough, try riding in S-class with aftermarket 20" rims.

Even my parent's '06 ML500 in standard mode (not Comfort, not Sport) rides smoother then the S in "comfort" mode. Something just doesn't seem right It is almost as if the Air Suspension is not absorbing the bumps..
Or does the S class really ride that rough on OEM 18's

Have it checked. I've owned two 220s, and neither had a uncomfortably firm suspension in any mode. My current one, an S65, comes on 19s and is still fine over any road surface. Mine have both been ABC, and I assume yours is Airmatic but, if anything, Airmatic is cushier. It sounds like the Airmatic is out of whack.

Having owned two S class with the Airmatic and ABC suspensions I did have simliar problems with the Airmatic back in 2000 on the S500 and thank God it was still under warranty otherwise it would have been costly to repair the Airmatic...
Therefore, since your car is still under warranty I am sure the MBZ Dealer will repair it at no cost to you and you will soon be able to enjoy your beautiful timeless new ride!
And as mentioned earlier by someone the S/W button next to your shifter only has to do with starting the car in first or second gear to give you better traction in the wet and nothing to do with your suspension or how your car rides. Also, the tire pressure sometime will give you a very rough ride if it is too high so do have the MBZ Tech check that too.19 inch or 20 inch wheels will not make such a huge difference on your car because this is a Mercedes Benz...
Cheers!

I agree with Duffy that calling them would be the best because you have to remember they get hundredes of orders each day so by the time they get to your e-mail it might be a week or two later so calling them will get your wood steering wheel much quicker.
Good luck!
