Need some Tire Size Help

Hey guys and gals,

I need some help figuring out what tires i need, i have
19X9.5 rims on the front i have 235x35x19 Tires
19X10 rims in the rear and 275x30x19 Tires

The tires on the front are tearing apart around the rim and is really unsafe.

Here are my questions:
What is the correct size for a 19X9.5 rim.

will affect my ride by putting 40 series tires in the front and keeping my 30's in the rear?

thanks for your help

235 for a 9.5 is wayy too narrow. The correct size for a 9.5 would be 265 or 275 ideally, but anything from a 245-295 will work if you really need it to fit that way (in your case, 235s, which I have never seen on a 9.5). Are sure its not 8.5?

For the 10s, you can run up to 305 or even 315s, but the S-class can only run 295s rear max. if I'm not incorrect.

Thanks for you information Newt, and yeah they are 9.5, I noticed that where the tire and wheel meet is streching so much it is tearing the tire apart. I am a little pissed that the shop i bought the wheels and tires from sold them like that i guess thats no wonder why they have closed down.

From what i am getting 255 will work fine? and is it okay to have 30 series in the back and 40's in the front?

You need to run a 245/35 on the front and it should be max 9 inch width. With that said that wheel at 9.5 is hopefully specifically designed for a W220 offset or it probably sticks way the out. Are you rubbing ? Is that what you mean by tearing apart or for lack of rubber ? You have to go 245 though in the the front. That will be a major improvement for sure.

the rims dont stick out the offset was correct i checked online for that but i did not check online for the tires.
In regards to the tire its not rubbing its as though the tire is being streched so much it is tearing at the seams, hard to explain ill take a picture tonight and post it so you can see what i mean.

Benzondubz are you saying to go to 245 because the 255 are to wide? and thanks for your input

Personally, I think 245s are too narrow for 9.5s. Why not 255s? Steering will feel slower, but stability will be improved.

If I had 9.5/10, I would go 255/285 for that aggressive look. Then again, I would not buy a 9.5 wheel for the front.

A 9.5 wheel should have a 275.35.19 tire on it. OR a 275 30 tire but this is a bit small for the W220, fine for the W211. AND should be ran on the back not the front...

IF you put 275.35.19's on the front of your car, it's going to steer like the titanic, and Say goodbye to any kind of turning radius.

Benzondubs and Newton are right,, you should be running a 8.0-9.0 on the front Maximum.( 8.5 is the preference because a 245 series tires works better than on a 9.0 ) But this is a car not a truck so why the wide fronts?
using a 8.5 wheel means you can use the safer (recommended by everyone) tire which is the 245.40.19 on that rim. then you're safe and won't have your S looking like a Hummer.

Your Rim guy should have warned you against that set-up, but if they forced that tire on such a wide wheel and thought it was ok, I would'nt take any of their advice...

255 would rub if the car is lowered.

I run 265/30-19 on the back. It is indeed a bit small, and I wish I had 35 series sidewall instead.

There are 2 setups that work well with 19's.

1.For slammed S-class cars. Lo-pro setup 275/30/19 & 245/35/19 also for good 20's.

2.If you want a taller sidewall you can run what they call a "fat" setup 275/35/19 and a 245/40/19.
