Newbee question.
I am in the market for a used s430 (w220 type). I noticed that there are a lot of 2000 model for sell but not a lot of 2001 or newer available on the used car lot. I am ready to pick one but I remember back then a lot of talks about the failures on 2000 model. Can someone shed a light for me as off what is the pro and con between 2000 and 2001 models?

The differences between the 2000 and 2001 model year on the W220 S-Class is like comparing night and day. There were countless problems for the 2000 model year, most of these problems were fixed for 2001.
If you can, get a 2001.
