Wider rear wheels for my S-600.
Over the past few months, I've been thinking more and more about putting wider rear tyres on my S-600. I've done a little looking, and it seems that all the wide wheels are flashy and too large. I want wheels that look like what you get through AMG, but wider in size. For example, I was looking at the 19 inch wheels you get on the S-65, but 11 inches in width, not 9.5
Any ideas?

Why so wide? The S65 stock wheels are a great setup. The traction is quite reasonable. And even those involve a slightly different setup (the track of the S65 is 4mm wider than the S600, front and back; the rear wheel offset is 60mm vs. 44). You will certainly increase understeer and unsprung weight.
What were you planning for the front? The S65 is 8 1/2 up front and 9 1/2 rear. I'm not sure how much wider you could go without messing up the steering. If you stay at 8" up front and 11" rear, the stagger will make the understeer tanklike.

"The clearance from stut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 22mm LESS
The outside edge of the wheel will RETRACT in towards the body by 10mm"
Will these 9.5 fit on the S600 or do you have to mod? Think you could get 295's on these?

The S600 Sport uses staggered 8.5 & 9.5 wheels 44 / 46 respectively on 18's.

19x9 in the front with a 245/35/19 will be no problem

The track difference is listed in the manual as a chassis difference. I assume the geometry is different, probably to account for the wheels, which have the different offset. I also don't know if there are other rear suspension differences (besides the wider track) to accomodate the different offset. I don't know if the S65 wheels will fit on an S600 without rubbing, nor whether the different setup is needed to have the car handle optimally even if they fit. I'd ask the dealer or a MB wheel specialist if you're serious.
But I would suggest that PZ look into a setup like this before considering 11s. The improved traction from my S55 is very noticeable. I live on a mountain road and there are a couple of hairpins that would always trigger the ESP. It never comes on in the S65 on this road. And the big bugaboo of these heavy engines, understeer, is amazingly tame thanks to the ABC calibration, also different to account for the setup.
