OBDII P0170 Code

Hello,

I ran the car at Autozone today. One code "Fuel Trim Malfunction p0170". I closed the Fuel Cap properly and the sign disappeared. Hope it won't appear again!

I hope it has nothing to do with the 02 Sensor or MAF.

However my car was motionless in the driveway for a while so the dust must have developed on it. So once I took it on the highway and gave it a breeze, it was A.O.K.

Any similar experiences?

EXACT experience. Scary that I also went to Autozone and had the counter guy scan the car for me.

In my case, it was the MAF sensor (my codes were P0170 and P0173 I think if I remember correctly). Cleaning it may help. My CEL light comes on occasionally still and I believe its my dirty air filters causing it.

Don't be surprised if the code comes back.

I actually had the filters changed and the housing cleaned 2 days ago. Cost me $50 for 2 filters. Was I riped off?

* http://www.mercedes-benz-parts-direct.com/epc-items.asp I guess not that badly, considering they need to be shipped.

I also covered her up, to prevent dust from latching on and stuff.

P0170 and P0173 along with P0300, P0305, P0307

Had the same issue. Initially P0170 and P0173. Replaced MAF sensor after cleaning of old one didn't help. Non-OEM from Ebay seemed to work for a few weeks then CEL again. This time getting 4 codes though:
P0305-Cylinder 5 Misfire
P0307-Cylinder 7 Misfire
P0300-Multiple Cylinder Misfire
P0173-Fuel Trim Malfunction (Bank 2)
Like to diagnose and fix my own car issues, but may have to take to dealer should this persist...any suggestions/comments? thanks!

300E a couple 1994 w124wagon E320 Wagon/,1971MGB Track/Rally, MG Midget Autocross ,2000 E320 wagon.
5 and 7 bank 2

P0173 bank 2 ,soon p0170 will pop up and you will realize why you never buy a maf off of ebay. Most likely a very clever chinese clone.
Also you can try and clean it,crc brand maf cleaner and then check o2 function. They are due at 100k miles and check cat function.IR temp gun makes that chore easy.
