Lowered S55 on adjustable links

So I know a few have made their own bolt/washer method, and it worked great for them. I wanted to try another route and used this adjustable links that this one company provides. Very high quality links and is a snap to remove your stock and put these in place and adjust as needed. All 4 corners took me only 30mins.

Here are some pictures. I lowered it enough to where its probably a 1/2" or more gap between top of tire and fender. Im waiting for my 20" DPE wheels to sent to me, so will take some new pictures once I get them in and on the car.

Thats nice!

I was thinking about making adjustable links myself Plenty of part in the mcmaster carrr catalog to try. but expense of trial and error kept me away from it. I wasnt going to market it so I just stay with the washer and extension method. its adjustable enough.

Did you need to use all 4 !?

rear has a slider and only 1 sensor on my 2002.

I did use all 4, the rear on the S55 has a sensor on each side, not one like your model does, I assume this changed possibly for the 03 model line.

It was $225 for the links. Not bad considering they are custom made and look identical to the stock ones except the center section is adjustable to lengthen or shorten the link. All alloy links except the threaded rod part. Definetely a high quality product, not something someone put together at Ace hardware.

I think I am going to put these on my 06 S55. How were the instructions, and were they preadjusted, or did you have to fiddle with them?

Extremely easy to put on, I did it in about 30mins, all 4 corners, didnt even take the wheels off, I used the jack on each corner to get some clearance to get in there. Front ones are really easy, just snap off the stock ones, they are connected on each side using a ball socket joint, like you see in the pictures. The rear are the same but you gotta get under the car a bit, again easy once jacked.

They are NOT preadjusted, you have to adjust them in length wise to suit your drop level. Each 5mm in length (compared to stock length) adjusts the drop about 1/2 to 3/4".

Thanks, I just ordered them. Do you remember how much you changed from stock lengths?

By the way, I called the company,( nice guy) cars with ABC have 4 links. Cars with normal Airmatic have only 3 links.

The fronts actually you have to make them longer by 5mm to drop it 3/4". I think I did about 7-8mm longer to make it about 1" lower.

The rear you have to make shorter to drop it, I did only 5mm in the rear to get about 3/4" drop since the rear doesnt have as much as a gap as the front. Yea the guy is very nice guy.

Yea your right, the front definately has to come down more.

Your car looks just right.

I am very excited, I have been on the fence with the various electronic kits and this will fit the bill. If I blow a shock, I can put it back to stock for warranty. My dealership is not very mod friendly, which is funny because it is owned by Bobby Rahal!

Thanks for the review, I almost missed it because you put it in the regular W220 section.
