CD Changer - Magazine Empty

I've tried a few of the suggestions I found in other posts to no avail. Short of replacing the whole cd changer unit, do you have anything more to try?

Here is the checklist I have already run through:
1. All trays loaded with cds (no empty trays)
2. All with label facing up (music side down when setting in tray)
3. All of the mag's sliding trays pop out without any abnormal resistance
4. Took the whole unit out and confirmed the connections underneath (pain to get it back in).
5. The green eject button works fine on the changer.
6. Moving parts seem fine when pushing mag down into changer.
7. CD button on stereo shows "No CD in tray" then "No CD in tray" then "Magazine Empty".
8. Tried holding Mute+SVC+Eject on tape. This did nothing.
9. All original store-bought CDs - no homemade CDs. Some minor scratches but nothing major. They play on home stereos fine.
10. I even swapped mags with one from my earlier E55 which seems identical anyway. No results.

I'm guessing it's the whole changer that needs replacement. But I have this feeling it just needs an adjustment.

Any other ideas guys?

Hello e55bliss
I have had a similar problem a few months ago. All of a sudden the cd-changer did not work ('Magazin empty'warning when fully loaded)

I was considering buying new, but decided to play around a little.
Emptied the magazin.
Key on contact. Push cd button and I heard some noise (movement in cd changer) I did it alone but it was in a quiet area.
So there still was life in the thing.
Then I loaded with one CD. Same procedure. some noise, it was working all the slide down to that one I loaded and there came the music.
After that fully loaded. It recognized all CD's in the cartridge. No problems since.

My advice, play half an hour with the thing, these MB cd changers are quite expensive (at least in the netherlands)

I thought I was the only one. My cd changer hasn't worked in 3 weeks. It looks like the cd tray is still out in the changer and will not go back in, so I keep getting an error message saying there is no magaizine in the tray when in fact there is one in, its just that the cd tray will not go back into the magizine.
So now I am stuck using an FM transmitter to play my mp3 player through the radio (How lame is that)

Sincerely,
NotSpending$400ForACDChanger
