Has anyone deodorized their a/c themselves? Is it something you can do yourself? I did my the front brake pads yesterday. It was really simple to do.

I have deodorized A/C by spraying Febreeze into the intakes while it was running - not in a Benz, but in other cars, some of which had heavy cigar smell. It sometimes required 2 treatments (I also cleaned the leather seats and sprayed the headliner. I also washed then treated the carpets and the floor mats).

However, if the source of the smell is mold or other growth, it would be necessary to kill it first.

before you buy the stuff and try to find the right places to get the stuff into, have it done by the A/C specialists which have it sometimes on sale $ 50-70 or so.

Not bad advice. And to clarify, I did spray into the intake outside the front windshield - not the interior A/C vents; then, put it on recirculate, and sprayed into the interior intake.
