2000 S CD changer problem.

my CD changer gets a very loud static noises in between songs (the blank space) after using it for a while in the hot weather. it works fine when it's cold. no statics nor noises.. perfectly fine.. Has anyone encounter the same problem before? is this a CD changer or an amplifier problem? I am thinking buy a used changer and test it out. does anyone knows how to remove the CD changer? thanks.

If you get the noise only when listening to a CD (and not the radio), it's likely the changer. These changers had such a high rate of failure (usually mechanical), I'd be wary of a used replacement. The dealer will probably charge you $600, but it will stay fixed for a while. Pre-2004 uses the proprietary D2B optical bus, so there's no competition to keep prices down.
