Trunk Emblem Removal

I need to have my trunk resprayed to fix a few scratches from the wife's luggage. I know, I know, I will let you guys tell her. The dealer wants several hundred dollars for new emblems. Is there any way to remove the current emblems without destroying the adhesive. Someone told me to use a hairdryer to heat them up and they will peel right off. I would like to reuse them if possible. Any ideas? Thanks.

You'll have no problem removing the old emblems, however I myself have never been able to salvage the adhesive. Also when you heat the emblems prior to removing, if they become too hot they typically will bend. And on the same note, if you don't heat them enough they wond budge. I've pretty much found it to be a loose loose situation if you're tying to salvage them. I've even used the dental floss & credit card trick but with no luck. Perhaps someone else has some nifty tricks. Good luck!

Best bet is to buy new ones via ebay.

Why not leave the car de-badged? Looks sharper, IMO.

You could try some monofilament fishing line. It's stronger than floss, and it gets the job done. I removed my badges without a hitch. As far as the Star...yeah, that comes off with screws or fasteners of some sort. Correct me if I'm wrong.
