B Pillar removal?
Need some help. I have a 2001 mercedes S600 and I need to replace the driver side rear b-pillar(the black piece that is between the front and rear window). I called benz and told me that the b-pillar and that little black piece above the pillar are one piece. All I need to do is replace that little black piece. Is it true that this is all one section? Also if it is, then how do I remove this b-pillar trim? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance..Peter W.

I had the same problem on my '00 S500, and indeed, they were one piece. The rubber piece is pretty firmly glued to the metal portion of the pillar trim, so I elected to replace the whole part rather than trying to transfer it from the new piece.
I destroyed the old pillar trim removing it (I pried it from below with a chisel wrapped in tape) and removing the underlying tape and foam from the pillar itself was a trial (so the new piece would fit properly); but it finally worked out, and looked good. As I recall it was a little over $60 just for the part, to replace that little bit of rubber.

There were no screws at all on my '00 S500. That's not to say there aren't any on your S600; they would likely be visible at the bottom of the pillar trim piece if they are there. Look at the replacement part -if there are no screw holes in it, then there are no screws in the one on your car.
