Best aftermarket warranty?

Best aftermarket warranty?
My dad just gave me his 2000 S500. It has about 64,000 miles and has had all the regular services. So far, it hasn't had any of the problems common with this car (knock on wood). But, I still want to get an aftermarket warranty as a safety net. I don't think I can get a starmark since I got it from him and not the dealer. With that said, what is the best "non-starmark" warranty for these cars?

you could be looking at 2-3000 for a good one. There are some that is considered to be bumper to bumper and list what is not covered. Most will list only what is covered. You have to read all the coverage. Make sure you find one that covers air-suspesnion.
Get a bunch of quotes and read thru all of them.
You will start to see that some company plain doesnt want to cover you when the price is extremely expensive.

I bought an extended warranty through AAA (the towing service) which uses prism for their coverage. My cost was $3500 for a 4 year/100k mile bumper to bumper warranty (best deal from a reliable vendor). You are required to wait 30 days plus 1000 miles to verify the car runs before you get coverage. I signed up, and in exactly 31 days, my ABC pump went out which cost $3100 parts and labor at the dealer. They covered it no questions asked.
I 100% recommend AAA's extended warranty coverage. Be careful who you sign up with...a lot of companies out there maybe cheaper, but will give you hassles on repairs, or may find reasons to not repair anything. A lot of companies go out of business before warranties expire.
I hate to say this, but it's very foolish to own a mercedes without any kind of warranty. If yours runs great past the warranty period, consider yourself lucky. Any "small" problem on the car can easily run THOUSANDS. I love my S600, and if I decide to open a new money making business, it will be a Mercedes repair shop.

Staffcurtis,
Does your warranty have any deductibles? Could you share what isn't covered? I know you said bumper to bumper, but sometimes they hide what they don't cover in the fine print. Do they offer a discount for AAA members and policy holders? I appreciate any info you can provide.

too many to list
My extended warrantly kicked in a year ago anyhow thanks to it I got my front & rear airmatic suspension replaced coz they just died, the compressor would keep filling it with air but there were leaks so the compressor eventually died too. My advisor told me the whole thing cost $5000 CAD. Extended warranty cost me $6000CAD
And today as my car went in for brakes and rotors I had them inspect an area on the driver side door were rust was building, well they inspected the whole car and also found my front fender with rust build up. Just got the call they are replacing the driver side door as well as the fender with a brand new one.
Feeling good even though I spent $3000CAD taxes in on this service.
$1360 Brakes & rotors (front & rear)
$900 New tires ( all 4)
$200 Transmission flush (recommended after 120,000km)
$100 Valve Cover Gasket replaced (I don't know how this leaked)
