Exclamation Suspension Question

Last week the rear passenger side tire hit the curb and I had a blowout, low speed, pulling out of a parking space.

Since all tires were getting old, I had all four replaced. The car has the AMG package. 2001, with 59000 miles.

Since then the car is lower on the driver side by about an inch (opposite side to the blowout), hence the tire, rear on the driver side rubs against the fender when going over bumps.

Any suggestions

too many to list
You definitely had a very violent impact because blowing out a tire against a curb does take substantial force. It sounds like the suspensions are out of order, get it checked out before it gets worse.

It's nothing. Just try to manually raise the car and lower it back. OR, take it to the dealer and have them resynch it for you. I had it done for a 5/8 inch difference on my rears.
This issue stems not from having a blowout as you might suspect. But instead, the tire shop leaving your car suspended perhaps unevenly and letting it down too quickly or unevenly. This happens all the time with these cars but normally the car evens out after you drive for a while.

The car is fixed, apparently there was an unrelated leak on one diaphragm (passenger side front strut) the car was running fine, but when the blowout happened on the same side rear it could not compensate enough, the tire place replaced one tire at a time with a floor jack which exacerbated the problem.

My mechanic raised the car on a hoist/lift. Brought it down evenly, no result. Then detected the leak in the front, changed both front diaphragms, erased the memory, entered Japan Specs, (which is higher) then lowered each side to U.S. specs. Raised the car on the lift put it down.

I have driven over 500 miles since and the car is fine, I took it in today for a recheck and it is holding U.S. specs.
