Rain water leak from front side doors

Hi Everyone,
Please could someone provide information on this new problem. When it rains very hard and my S600L is either parked on the driveway or travelling on the motorway, rain water leaks from both front side door windows onto the internal door sills.

I have checked all of the other water leak threads, but they are specifically related to blocked ventilation chambers.

Admittedly, the leaks are small droplets and do not flood the car, but very surprising for a flagship merc costing over £90,000 when new.

I have checked the rubber door seals around each door and they seem to be fine and glued on, so the only other thing I can think of is the black cloth/velour-like lining in between the door and the door window glass.

Has this happened to other W220 owners. If so, what was the outcome? Any ideas, please?

Hello , I had a water leak close to the door.
It turned out that there was a blocked drainage opening in a pan/reservoir (sorry, not a native speaker), just under the opening in the hood. (right side)

When this is your problem, just look if there is water left in that pan/reservoir.
I cleaned it with a solid copper wire of 1.5mm diameter

After telling this on my work, I heard from more people who had a similar problem. but with other brands of car.

The problem described by Kor can happen, but in my experience with an '00 S500 the leak occurred over the footwell carpeting and there was some spray from the floor vents. Eventually (until I found out what was going on), the Air conditioning would not circulate outside air at all. The drain tube for the air intake had been kinked during some maintenance - it drained immediately when I straightened it. The problem, and information on how to fix it, is posted at http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w220...highlight=leak

However, I did not experience droplets on the door sill from that problem. I believe the problem may be plugged drain holes at the bottom of the doors, as described at http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w220...ide-doors.html

Hello all,
it seems the problem I experienced is actually what skylaw has referred to in his first hyperlink. I fixed it with cleaning the blocked drain.
The reason I found water quite near the passenger door is probably some sharp left-turns which caused the water to move to that direction.

regards (and next week I am off for a holiday)
