Somebody is trying to sell me new chrome rims off a CLS 500. The only question is regarding the offset; 28 in front and 33 in rear??? Does this seem correct for a big body? I was always under the impression the offset should be above 40. Throw me a bone!

I have an 03 S55 and the offset is +44. The W221's (07-08 S Class) have a +43 offset. If I'm not mistaken the offsets for the CLS & SL are very close if not identical in the high 20's/low 30's. They "may" work on your S as long as you don't have the ABC program. This system allows you to raise and lower the car for comfort & sport settings. They will rub in the rear on an S with ABC in the sport setting. I myself have a set of 18' Split Spoke AMG wheels/tires taken off of my S55 or 19' Deneblo wheels/tires from an 07 S550 that will fit without any modifications. I replaced the 19' with a set of 20' take offs from an 07 S65. They're listed on eBay. Send me a PM or e-mail @ s2k2001@hotmail.com if you'd like pics or the links.
