Clar protection film & V1 installed
Have some free time last week, so I had the following done to the car
- Have the window tinted, 20 rear, 35 front. $250 at tint shop.
- Have SolarGard protection film applied, also have Xpel protection film for the headlight. $750 all together (part & labor). The film is not noticeable at more than 10 ft from the car. Close by, you could see the line, also, the film have more orange peel than the paint. I'll put some layer of Zaino on it when I have chance to make it smooth as the paint. Learning from my previous car, where I have to respray the bumper & hood every year or so; from now on, I would have this film on all my cars.
- Installed the Valentine 1 radar detector. Use Velcro between the V1 and top of the mirror. Confirmed that radar range is good as spec & nothing get compromised (I used to be radar engineer back at Hughes, so know a bit about testing it)
This's on top of replacing the Bosch bi-xenon projector with the one from the Audi RS6, light output is so much more (same bulb & ballast).
Once I'm back from Vegas trip next week, I think car will get a new set of tires & backup camera.
