Tires...? 18" AMG Oem Rims...Goodyear, Toyo or Michelin?
By far the best year round traction I ever had was the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S.
But the rears wore out inside of 10K I don't spin tires or anything like that.
The compound in the middle of the tire was down to the belts and the rest of the tire was fine.
Of course the tire shop said I was either out doing burn outs or over inflated tires. Niether of which is true. They were inflated with nitrogen and always kept at spec. After I found 45 pages of other people having the exact same problem they agreed to refund me 60% of the cost of the tires.
The fronts have 40K on them and just now could stand to be replaced but are still good and just at the wear marks.
It really will boil down to the typical weather you drive in.
I travel a lot to the north east so snow is always a possibility and I need the best all around tire. The ps a/s fits that bill.
Maxing the tire pressure in the rears to 40psi made the rears wear better (totally oposite of the normal way of thinking) but the ride quality suffered.
Check out the tire rack section on this site there are lots of discussions about the best tires.
