problems after lowering

Hi guys has anyone had problems after lowering there cars with the struts, im asking because i got my 2000 s500 lowered 1 inch a month ago and now i have a burnt compressor and leaking struts.
My car has 90k miles how long should these parts last.

i dont think it has anything to do with the lowering..well it might...but it sounds like they were about to go out regardless....btw post some pics of the drop...

The burnt-out compressor is because of the leaking struts. The pump has to work overtime because of the air leak and gives up the ghost.

The seals at the top of the struts crack and need resealing. It's certainly not surprising after 90K/7 years. If you've been using a MB dealer to do your maintenance, they should have caught the cracked strut seals. It's something they would normally check. If they didn't, I'd complain.

If you haven't been having the dealer service the car, you just learned one reason that the dealer is often the cheapest way in the long run for these cars.

In any case, the lowering probably had nothing to do with it.
