B Service on 2000 S500 @ 65,000 miles

I have a 2000 S500 with ~65,000 miles. Recenty the B Service indicator came on. I contacted the dealer to find out what is involved and how much it costs and this is what I found out -
Cost: $612
Includes:
Oil Change
Inspect wiper blades, lights, fluid
Wash Engine
Check Engine belts
Rotate tires if necessary
Test battery
Check brakes

Do you think it is worth getting this service done by the dealer? Or would you suggest getting an Oil change done by an indy using synthetic oil & MB filter. He will check other stuff as well, but I don't think he has the tool or would know how to reset the Service indicator on the dash display.

Please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks.

Most of those items are checks.. nothing is really fixed if it is you will be charged extra for it.. SO.. my opinion is that any qualified technician can check your car.. the oil and filter doesn't even come out to be 100 bucks so that decision is yours...
To reset the service indicator, just scroll so that it appears on your mfd and hold the reset button for a few seconds till it resets to 10K. That's all there is to that part.

Thanks for your suggestion and technique to reset the service indicator.
I'm also leaning towards getting it done by an indy, because it's just basically an oil change.

00 S500 & 2008 E350 Wagon
I just had the "B" service done on my 2000 S500. The dealer quoted like $280 for the service. Of course during the service, he found I needed new brake pads and router, there was two oil leeks, etc. The final bill was like $1,500. But, around $500 was covered by my extended warrenty.

The service indicator message comes up only when I start the car and stays for few seconds. I kept the reset button pressed, but the message didn't go away.
