My driver's door soft close function also stopped working. I disconected the battery to reset it. It still doesn`t work, but I hear air escaping from inside the door. Any ideas what this could be?

This happened to my driver side door, of many things. I took off the door panel to realize that the pump was cracked. I even heard mine when it went. I have not fixed it yet. Looking for a place to buy the pump. Getting pretty tired of all the "little" fixes. They are quickly becoming "large" expenses. Vacuum pump went at the trunk lid as well. I fixed that with "super glue for plastic". We will see how long that lasts.

I'm having the same problem with my left rear door. No power locks and no soft close.

How do you get to the fuses under the seat? Do you have to take the seat cushion off?

If so, I have the power reclining rear seats. How do you take the cushion off?

Thanks for all your help.

I'm not familiar with the reclining rear seats, but believe the fuse panel is behind the courtesy light on the rear passenger side near the floor. Gently pry out the light and the fascia behind it to reveal the fuse panel. No need to remove cushions.

My driver side door also stopped soft-closing over a year ago. The stealer gave me some ridiculous quote so I just resorted to slamming the door shut...well not really slamming but you get my drift. I tried changing the fuse as suggested above but no dice.
Oh well...

might be time to replace the pump.

My trunk soft close stopped working, but after pulling the fuse and replacing, its been fine for a month. No issues with other doors.

Btw, I don't really see how you are "slamming" if you close it hard enough to bypass the soft close.

I basically close the door like I normally would and I hardly ever get the soft close working. You really have to baby it to have soft close in use.

Check out this site. It is for a W140, but the pump looks almost the same. The adjuster looks different though. But you'll get the idea.

I am having driver door soft close problems. I read the post and pulled the #20 yellow fuse and reinstalled it and it started working again for 1 day. I repeated this process the 2nd time and so far it has been 2 days and the door is still working.

The system monitors how long it takes for the soft-close to latch the door. If the time gets outside the programmed limits, the computer will monitor the latching several times, and if the time is still outside the limits, it will disable the soft-close on that door. If you reset the computer, it will repeat the cycle.

If the computer continues to disable the soft-close, it usually indicates that there is either a leak in the actuator or lines, or the mechanical drag is too great for the actuator to overcome.

The most common problem appears to be failure of the plastic actuator housing. Some folks have been able to patch the plastic housing with wire ties and/or epoxy. Try searching YouTube for W220 door repairs. A Chinese vendor was offering cheap replacement soft-close actuator housings.

I was having the same problem with the soft close driver door. I pulled the fuse out and put it back a couple times because it would only work for a day or two and stop working again. So, I decided to replace the fuse and when I did the problem went away.
