Trunk will not open

Without any obvious reason, I cannot open the trunk, not with the keyfob, not with the button on the door (the light on the door button does not come on either) every thing else works with central locking, I am confused any ideas will be helpful. I can open it manually with the key.

I would guess that the small plastic air piston on the lock mechanism split open. You will hear air hissing when you try to open it if that is the problem. I glued mine back together and it works fine . Not too hard to get to, just take the trunk lid liner off and you should see it..

That is right. Mine is broken excatly the way you said. The dealer wants $375for it. Can't get my mind ready to spend $375 for that little round black plastic box. I will try your glu idea and see. Thanks.

OK.. I used that instant super glue. It is a crappy plastic that not much will stick to.. after I glued it I got a large piece of heat shrink tubing and put that around that broken area.. heated it with a heat gun and it shrunk on there real tight.. been 6 months and still works like new..

I opened the trunk liner found a lot of plastic things behind it. In short got confused, any way I noticed a "red" tube going into a white box, where should I be looking for the crack.

I pushed on the red tubing and made sure it was secure and wallah it started to work properly.

Will see how long it will work. If anyone can tell me where the crack should be I will be greatful.

There is a black plastic cylinder that is about 1.5 in dia and about 2 in long. It looks like a oversized walnut. It is made in 2 halves.. Where it is joined together is where mine was broken..

It has been a week now, mine still works fine, just thought I would update you. I guess mine was a loose red hose/pipe. Because that is the only thing that I pushed in gently.
