Rate this ride for me

I know you guys are a tough bunch when it comes to the style and class of a vehicle. I'm considering an SUV as a second vehicle and wanted to get your opinion on this one. Be honest. My clients are both corporate types and club owners. This vehicle has to work for both of them without offending either.

Range Rovers Make the W220 look like the pinnacle of reliability! These SUV's are beautiful hunks of crap.

That's my favorite truck!

I think those rims are just right, not too flashy and at the same time on that car they look like class. I doubt you'd offend anyone but haters, and like Katt Williams said "You need haters, it is their job to hate. If you have 16 people hatin' on you - you need to figure out how to get 20 by the summer time..."

I've owned 2 and both were heaps! I thought the germans over engineered!! Trust me, you'll regret it!

Go with the MB GL or the Lexus GX or LX. All great rides and much better reliability.

What do you mean by heap? I know that are not as reliable as a Lexus but are they really that bad? Honestly there are some days that I regret owning the W220. It has had quite a few problems (ie. airmatic, instrument cluster, ball joints). But I have learned that it's just the nature of a German vehicle. It's not a question of if it will break, it's when it will break and whether or not the warranty will cover it.

Why don't you put this on a Range Rover site.. where somebody cares??
( that was mean sorry.. )

Cute truck but you trying to impress somebody and frankly, I'm not. You could BS me in your S class and I would take your no more serioulsy if I was rolling with you. There are differences between trying to provide a service and create a style and trying to provide a service and please every single body you come in contact with. You are going about it the wrong way...

I don't know if you have a Taxi service, Escort service,Limo, or what ever it is you are trying to do you didn't specify, but starting with the look of your car is the wrong move. Especially that one.

look. If I'm a club owner, where would I be going with you in that thing when I live in Miami and I have to look at all this bling sitting in my parking lot night after night.. ( not inpressed ).

OR some CFO looking for What? a ride to the airport? I'd be sitting in the back wondering how long you plan on staying in business trying to impress folks by driving them around absorbing all of your profits with this gas guzzling high maintenance money pit. So.. I would't be impresssed in that regard either.

Thats my take....

Anyway.. enough of that...

My buddy had a MB shop in Hollywood and his neighbor was a Rover inde repair guy, he would tell me he would the same Rovers over and over again in for repairs, so I think there is some substance to serious reliabilty issues.

Good point. I will keep that in mind. Some people could care less what you drive but image is very imortant in Miami. In fact some people are more inclined to do business with you if you project the right image. The opposite is also true: no image/style/class = no business. Now I will admit, it only gets the door open. But I can take it from there.

I was told that these cars have many issues mostly on the transmissions.

I sure do like the Range Rovers, awesome SUVs

Ok no one has said anything about the looks of the vehicle so I will assume that it is tasteful. I just wanted to be sure because personally I think it's the best styling on a Range Rover I have ever seen. My next move is to look into extended warranties. I think I'm going to take the plunge though. I know, I know... I have been warned! Thanks for the input.

if you're talking about the look, i'd say it's perfect for both kinds of ppl you'll be dealing with.

but you may want to take that chrome bit off the side gills...

i think the S Class should fit all your clients' needs. it's a very nice car and also very professional. but you can't go wrong with the range either!

To clarify: My last Rovers were 6 and 9 years ago (SE 4.0's). Both had terrible transmission and electrical problems. Stereo was a PITA to tune, cup holders were terrible (not any better in my S600!). Overall poor experience.

That said, I loved the look and the fact that it would go ANYWHERE (that's why I bought a 2nd one)....

Great looking ride (lose the chrome).....make sure you have a solid warranty and expect it to spend some time in the shop.

Good choice. If I were 2 get a high end truck that's what it would be. 2nd and only other choice would be a G wagon by benz.
