Problems with esp, bas, airmatic and abs

Today when i was driving my s320 and when i did brake suddenly the abs, bas, esp warning came up. I did stop and restarted the engine and the warnings was still there. Sometimes the airmatic warning also comes on. I did test drive it for a while and the steering also became very heavy. When i stopped and did try to put it in reverse the car would not move, like the brakes where on. I did restart it and the steering was light again and i could reverse the car, but the warnings where still there and the same **** happened again when i drive it for some minutes. i did try the sunroof and it also acts weird, when i oppen the sunroof i had to pull the switch many times for it to close and it also did open when i pulled the switch down. WTF has happened to my mb. I have keyless go and did try it with and without the key to see if the eis did do it. Anyone has any clue what it can be??

I had a similar thing happen to me last month after I had my rotors replaced. The next day the car would not get out of 1st gear, and the airmatic and esp lights came on etc. Had the car towed to the stealer and the problem turned out to be a brake sensor that had been damaged during the initial rotor work.

Hope that helps.

Brake light switch

I am going to try to replace the brake light switch first and see if that helps, but i can't get the damn thing out, what is holding it in place, a clip or something?

Looks like the stop light switch is in order. Better get it to a mb workshop and let them figure it out

Heres your solution for the ABS ESP BAS, put key in position 2 and lock the steering wheel to the right and left. You're done.

i have the same problem as far as the trouble codes going off in the cluster. when i got the 2 sensors in the front and the 1 sensor in the rear replaced by a benz tech because my suspension was slammed and a lil lopsided. i went home and the codes lit up my cluster. i asked the tech wussup, and he said there is a module in the steering coloum that you can replace for approx $800 bucks just for the part. im koo with that so i still roll it around for over 1 1/2 years and it comes on a couple times a week and i literaly drive approx 100-200 feet and the trouble codes go away. so my problem is just a module or a sensor. but it has never gave me any problems with the brakes, or airmatic. i also did the front n rear pads and rotors and my car drives smooth no problems at all. that brake sensor that someone said sounds correct though. i had a similar problem like that on my 96 camaro ss, i adjusted it and my car's brakes was holding the rotors for dear life. the brake sensor you got is either old or defective. all i did was adjust the brake sensor under the dash near the pedal. that was on my ss, not sure of location on the benz. hope my experience can shed a lil light on ur problem

I had the exactly same problem. Rotating the steer wheel L and R fixed the ESP/BAS error message. Any info about the SRS red led?

Hey guys i have a s500 2005 (w220) and my Abs and esp warnings and light have recently turned on the other morning and it would stay on the whole time while driving. But occasionally when i restart my car it would switch off and eventually come back on again later.. any ideas on what it could be? Also whenever the lights switch on the steering becomes very stiff ( hard).
THANKS!

Check the sticky at the top of the page that says "Start Here", and search for "wheel speed sensor".

when the steering wheel gets hard, first check the connections for the speed sensor and the strut, they are together and might look like they are in but sometimes thay are not, if that doesnt help then replace the speed sensor, have you worked on the car lately?
