can North American 2005 S500 play DVD-Audio?

It will play the sound track from a standard video DVD - I love listening to the Rolling Stones' Steel Wheels Tour DVD; it's a movie, and of course I don't get the video - but the sound track is great.
I don't know that it can play back DVD-Audio or SACD discs. DVD-A was an entirely different format from those normally found on DVD (movie) discs. If a movie was augmented with a DVD-A sound track, the DVD-A track was stored on the disc apart from the other (e.g., Dolby 5.1, etc) sound tracks. Even many home DVD players were not compatible with DVD-A or SACD formats.
my06clk is entirely correct that your car will play mp3 recorded onto DVD, and he has contributed heavily to the information on this forum - much of which is in a sticky in the Audio and Telematics forum on Benzworld, plus more in the Audio and Electronics forum here.

Thanks for the tip though.. but that is crap that doesn't work on the S class anyway.. I use handbrake for MAC to convert all of my DVD's into Digital format for my Apple TV.. HEY!!
