Talking Hi everbody

hi everbody,
i am the new owner of a 2002 S55. first i want to thank everybody on this site because you provided information that came in handy before the purchase. i really love the car. i live in northeastern pa and the weather hasn't been cooperating so my car has been sitting in the garage. i have been reading the manuals....whew talk about complicated. i've been looking at it this way...at least the car i purchased is very advanced. i traded a 2000 E430 sport in on the new car. there is a major leap in technology and creature comforts...even more than the price would leave you to believe.
i was told about the facelift on the 2003's by a dealer that i shopped at. he didn't have any details but i'm guessing at least clear lenses for the headlights...like the new E class.

Congrats on the new purchase ! There is a lot to learn at first with all the options on the car.... But, in no time you will master them all. I love the seat's back massagers !

Thumbs up

hi adam,
my local dealer had this particular car for about 3 months. i most have looked at it 15 times. i decided to go down and haggle the day after we recieved 18 inches of snow. i figured nobody was shopping cars that day and i would get more for my trade....plus it had to be eating into his holdback. well it seemed to work...not perfectly but well enough. i still feel elated inside. your going from a 2002 to 2003...it feels good to know that at least i'm not the only crazy car out there. good luck

You're gonna need a lot more therapy if you don't drive that and just let it sit in your garage!

hey guys,
as far as the color of my car.... it is the desert silver with the java interior. the car doesn't have any other options. when i was looking at the S class cars i thought about the S500 with the sport package but every S500 i found had other options added to them that pushed the price closer to the S55 that my local dealer had. so in the end opted for the AMG. my dealer had this car for almost 3 months. i must have looked at it 15 times. i live in wilkes barre pa. 2 mondays ago we had a pretty good amount of snow fall..18 inches. i decided that i would go down on tuesday to see if i could get a little more for my trade since nobody was buying cars in the crappy weather. it seemed to work to my advantage....plus it didn't hurt they were paying interest on the car sitting on their lot. the planets were in alignment...i got a better deal! also....sometimes i think it pays to be a PEST!!!

hi james,
the car stickered for 101145.
they took 3000 off the sticker and gave me 42000 for my trade.
i bought the car outright. the interest rate i got was 5.95. overall i was pretty satisfied. if i sold my car(14000 miles) on my own i could have got more but then would have had to wait and risk the car i purchased being sold. plus with the new E class coming out in march i wasn't sure how the market would be for used E's. also with a face lift coming for the S class i felt now was the time to fight for a deal. the dealer i purchased it from carries about 14 different manufactures and between my brothers and our businesses we give them quite a bit of business....but what's frustrating is that you still have to haggle and understand the dealer invoices, holdback, and trade numbers. even with all of that information in hand with todays used car environment(dealers want to be cash now it seems) it's not easy. plus i think they noticed i was frothing at the mouth!!!! and they had a sale no matter what:p how do these numbers sound? i'm curious if my deal was good or bad. let me know what you guys.

Desert Silver S55! Nice!

The only ones I've seen here in Hawaii are Horizon Blue ones...which is also nice...
