Movin On Up (?)
I have a '96 C220 that has served me well (got it 6 years ago and am the 2nd owner) and I want to trade up. Thought about a 2000-ish E class but that seemed almost exactly like my C, except for the front end.
Would love an S. Consumer Reports said the 2000 S was a "used car to avoid". Is the 2000 really markedly worse than the 01? I know 2000 was the first year of the new design... and would really like the new design if possible...
... although I did look at a 99 S500, black, that was really nice... and well priced.
I drive 18-20k/yr if that makes a difference in anyone's advice.
I would never find the car locally... I will have to travel to get it.
