Theft of Drivers Side Mirror,
Some BAS@#%%d keeps stealing my driver’s side door mirror,
MBZ main dealers charge over $600 for a new mirror,
So the thief knows the value of the mirror,
My mirror has been stolen twice; I just bought another one and am about to install it.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to stop the mirror thief??
Thanks
Paul

I am thinking of using super glue when I install the next one,
Have pissed anyone off recently? Do you have some kids in the neighborhood who may like to pull some pranks? I can't imagine your average 'S' class owner prying off your door mirror multiple times.... if you catch my drift.
If you have comprehensive insurance, it should cover a stunt like this.

Yes, I agree with you about the average S class owner would not do this.
I live on a busy street in San Francisco, very few kids in the area, if any.
Didnt **** off anyone that I know of.
I can understand it be stolen once, if somebody actually needed it for his own car, but twice, its has to be a thief that is selling them to a body shop.
They never touch the passinger door mirror, cause that one is only $100 to replace. So even if it was "KIDS" they would not know the value of one mirror over the other one.
Anway, I cant drive without it, So I have to install it today.
Heres hoping it does not get stolen again.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG

One cannot use anything but a safety torx socket on it.The Mirror requires three screws/Bolts

I can't believe the difference in price from passenger to driver's side!
I think at this point I would sit in the back seat with a 45 and wait!

Good luck!

I think the torx screws are the best idea.
But the 45 would be more Pleasurable and Satisfying,
The reason why the drivers side is more expensive is because it has the auto dimming thing, (I think)
Thanks

The mirror just has a metal clip, 2 wire connectors and a round plastic thing that clips in to the mirror housing.
I think I may have to use the super glue idea,

seriously, i see the guy i will beat the living sh*t out of him.
btw, where do u live? i live in queens NY.
Sorry to hear this. I'm also from San Francisco and have a W220. I can't believe this would happen twice!
You should probably consider getting a camera. Do you fold in your mirrors?
Hopefully you don't live in a bad neighborhood.
