Hello, Newbie here.

Just picked up an 01 S430. but there seems to be a problem with the headlight switch. Anyone ever experience the lights (headlights and parking lights) being on everytime the engine is running? The headlight switch is in the "O" position. Hope some of you can help me, getting really tired of replacing bulbs

You will eventually see an option for ligh circuit headlight mode where you can select manual or constant. It sounds like you are set for constant. Switch it to manual and you will have full control when the lights should turn on and off.
