S500 Man how's your Hong Kong center console? I got mines last week installed it and the next day the bottom corner popped out then the whole center console starting sagging and coming out. Very dissapointed in the craftsmanship and that **** cost $230 buck...

Mercedes S500
I have just come accross this thread re a double din kit. I'm looking to purchase a double din kit for my S500. The site referanced on EBay no longer sells the kit talked about in this thread. Any ideas on options that I may have?

Here's the double din dash piece on ebay. I know the S came without nav in other countries. ![](http://69.36.72.119/pictures/20/DSC09922.JPG)

I bought two of these off Ebay....that exact piece.....from a seller in China for about $230/a piece. They're complete pieces of sh*t. The mounting tabs on back are attached with a glue gun. So, when it's summer in Houston and it gets to be 120-130 degrees in your car, the glue softens and the first time you hammer the car your 1k dollar stereo ejects from the console while you have clients in the car on a business lunch. Ask me how I know.
I spent another couple hundred paying my stereo installer to un-install, remount the tabs with some fiberglass adhesive, and then re-install. A complete PITA. Not to mention that on the other piece, the pre-cut slots for the a/c controls were slightly off..... just enough the eliminate the ability to use the temp control buttons. He had to "file" sections of the piece, then color match it so it looked right.
The actual color of the piece is good, and once we modded the tabs it looks and fits like factory. It just took some R&D to get it to work properly....it was NOT a turn-key purchase and the seller had no reply to me after numerous emails asking for a solution.
