i think i still prefer the look of the stock navi, but just my opinion =P

don't take it the wrong way though, the double din looks nice too! =)

I have not been able to find the w220/s430 doubledin daskit online, does anyone know where I can wind a woodgrain one? Nothing on ebay unless I am searching incorrectly. Thanks

Yeah you can use the bose speakers however you will need to replace the amp. they also see the steering wheel converters so you can still have that function. there is a good write up on here about the converstaion. search for double din and you will find it.

Would the Pioneer Z3 fit my 2000 S500, and provide full functionality? Cost of unit and install? Can Bose speakers be used that are in the car now + a new amp, or are new speakers needed/desired? thanks.

how do you replace the amp with an aftermarket unit? my Bose amp got wet and died

yeah my cd player took a swim also and died. the amp is very simple to replace, however you will need to change it with the same fiberoptic one. you can find them on ebay for around 200 bucks.

If you wanted to get a regualr amp you will need to change out the head unit as well since they both take fiberoptic.
