Question about tires

Hello all,

I have a 2000 S500 with the AMG package. I nned to replace the tires on my car, but I have a quick question. The original tires are Front 245/45/18 and the Rear are 275/40/18.
A friend of mine has a brand new set of tires that he's willing to give me, but they are (2) 245/40/18 and (2) 275/35/18.

I know they will fit, but would it cause any problems with the airmatic suspension?

Thanks for all your help.

Won't cause issues with the Airmatic, but your speedometer and mileage reading will be off.

They're each about 4% smaller in rolling diameter than stock. You usually try for 1% and avoid exceeding 3%. I wouldn't go this far from spec. The Airmatic won't care, but your speedometer will read low, which can affect your nav and other telematics. It might not be bad enough to throw codes, but it could. You'll also probably not be able to dial in the alignment, and could feel some handling effects and increased tire wear.
