Have you tried using your key - the metal bit inserted in the remote ?

Sorry if you already know this but you can remove the metal key from your remote control fob.
Using this piece you should be able to get the boot unlocked from the concealed opening button under the lip of the boot.

Oh yeah - boot is trunk this side of the Atlantic
