Wiper replacements....any options besides MB?

I looked in various autopart stores and found NOTHING. The wiper guides do not list the 2000+ S-class. I took my wiper off and find an extra "wing" and I suspect the design of the wiper makes it impossible to go simple aftermarket as opposed to custom aftermarket. Is this true? Am I doomed to goto the dealer to get new wiper blades?

Tell me it ain't so!

My 2000 s class had the worst blades I have ever seen, then I tried rainex, available at the car wash, treated my windshield and its been alot easier to see, and has cleared up most of my problems. By the way I got this idea from this forum

I hate the wiper blades on my 500. This summer, I went about a month or two without using them, and finally when I needed them, they came on... but the edge of the blade had slipped out of the metal arm at the top and etched the coating on my windshield!

Now I have about 2 or 3 thick streaks across my windshiled that wont come out.

Not to mention the dang wipers have never worked well... I guess I just got bad blades?

Well..due to the constant rain in DC this past week, I gave in and grabbed a pair of wiper blade replacements at the dealer near my house....$15. Ouch. At least now I have the part #'s so next time I'll order a few from the net. Argh.

Turns out MB switched the wiper design mid-2000 year, so apparently, those after my 2000 have to replace their wipers w/ the $75 replacements. Talk about highway robbery.
