2002 S430
Need new Tires and Rims
Hi All,
I am looking to get new rims and tires for my 2002 S430. Only has 25,000 miles on it and the back tires are getting thin on tread. No, not from burnout's. I don't beat on the car, just form wear I guess.
What I need is recommendations on what size rims. I am looking at going with 18's. I have 16's on it now and I was thinking 19 or 20's would be too rough of a ride. I want it to look good but keep that Mercedes ride to it.
Should I go staggered or same size all around?
18" or 19" or 20"
what brand tire? Make and model?
What size tire?
If I don't go OEM Rims what brand should I go with?
Also who has the best prices on tires and rims?
Thanks

Honestly, I think AMG rims in the 18" size are perfect for the 220. Retains a good ride quality, looks sharp without looking cheesy or trashy, and tires are reasonably priced.
You can stagger if you want, and thats how most AMG rims come (4matics are not staggered).
For tires, I woudl get nothing other than Michelin Pilot Sport All Seasons. They are expensive but worth it.
I don't recall the tire size for sure, but for the amg 5 spoke 18s, its 245/40/18 in the front, and I think 275/35/18 in the rear.
