Glad to hear everyone is OK. That was a serious crash.
Aside from the panache and prestige of owning a benz, saftey is one of the more important attributes.
This is why we drive Benz.

I'm amazed but not surprised at how the MB sheltered you. Guys i cant help but notice at how the whole car from the rear seat-forward was left undamaged and the rear window pane was not broken.
Several years ago my BMW 5 series (angel eyes e39) got hit by a a late model Sentra. The guy admitted that he panicked and ended up stepping on the gas instead of the brakes, increasing the force. Inside i felt like the BMer's rear was crushed. When i went down (yes i walked away) The Sentra's front end collapsed where the engine moved, the radiator kissed the engine, the grill married the radiator and the engine and the hood became an accordion. The Bmer? Nothing happened the paint was dented and the Park Distance sensor broke. My dealer charged the guy's insurance US$2,500 for the park sensor that's it.
if i were his lawyer i'd argue this to be correct. He hit a German wall called the S-class crumple zone.
