S600 vs S500

I am looking for a good S600 or S500. My worries are associated with reliablity.

Is the S600 just as reliable as the S500?

I would not enjoy buying an S600 only to find out that the better car is the S500.

thanks.

03 S600 is a 12 cylinder vs 8 cylinder, 500 hp vs 302hp. If u are talking about a used car or a left over, You can get some great deals now, these cars are taking a big hit now in prices because of the new engines. Both cars are great.

Just in the consideration stages

thanks for the reply

I am not in the market just yet. Starting the investigation side of the car hunt.

I appreciate the thoughts on the vehicle. MB has always been a favorite of mine and really find the car to five star through and through. With the new cars electronic requirements I was curious as to how much maintanence they might require.

thanks again

2004 S 600
I got one of the first S600's in the country. It's a 2001 that I took delivery of in August of 2000. It's been very reliable.....since it was one of first built there were minor bugs but it is of course all covered under warranty. Those bugs had nothing to do with engine so you can compare to S500 just the same. The V12 makes all the difference with such a heavy car and I endorse buying one.

Porsche Cayenne Turbo, 360 C.S.
the W140 or anything under the year 1999 model, are the most reliable, from electronics to mechanical parts. but of course you can feel totally comfortable with a 2003 S600 specially with the 493bhp and 590lb-ft of torque

Straight from a guy that has a S600 and been involved in an accident with a LX470. Go for the S600, make sure you bring pics too!
